Tribal programs

Tribal programs in behavioral health for young people and families include these examples and more:
bədaʔčəɬ (pronounced”buh-DAH-chuh”: Lushootseed for “our children”) is a Tulalip Tribes program that has been creatively designing integrated services that promote family and cultural preservation, health, and resiliency in children and families. bədaʔčəɬ services include: prevention work (to keep families together), ongoing case management, placement support services, visitation services, and guardianship social worker services. Their programs focus on preserving and strengthening family ties and children’s cultural and spiritual identities by prioritizing placements with, near or adjacent to families on/near the Tulalip Reservation.
Sche’lang’en Village Transformational Wrap-Around Program based in the Lummi Reservation (northwest/west of Bellingham) is assisting enrolled members of the Lummi Nation and their families who are in need of multiple wraparound services. The program collaborates with several agencies to provide a comprehensive support system including but not limited to: the Lummi Nation Housing Authority, Lummi Counseling Services, Lummi Behavioral Health, Lummi Victims of Crime, the Lummi Tribal Court, and Lummi Children’s Services.
The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations (HL7N) is an indigenous-focused, licensed comprehensive inpatient and outpatient health organization in the Spokane area. The Healing Lodge has a 45-bed adolescent inpatient treatment center and offers outpatient behavioral health services to both Native and Non-Native youth. Their trauma-informed care services are culturally focused and use best-practice treatment modalities for youth ages 13-17 who experience chronic alcohol and drug addiction and co-occurring disorders. Their wellness program is grounded in traditional, cultural, and spiritual values. Their work integrates culture with comprehensive behavioral health and medical care to create a holistic, trauma-informed approach towards healing.
